4 Lipsticks to Wear for Valentine’s Day

Ahhh Valentine’s Day! Let me ask ya’ll a question, honestly – what’s your opinion on it? I’d have to say its not my faaaavorite holiday of the year. I’m not hatin’ on love, but sometimes this holiday brings out the weirdest vibes in people.

You start seeing weird social media posts like “I need to get a date before Valentine’s Day” and it makes me CRINGE. Then, on the other hand you have those people saying “Valentine’s Day should be every day…” and that just sounds cheesy to me. (like, c’mon – insert eye roll) WHO actually acts like EVERY day is a perfect fairy tale lovey-dovey moment? 😂 Let’s be REAL, people!

It makes me uncomfortable when people are like “so what are you doing for V-day?” I’m like…are we supposed to go on a dinner cruise or something? I don’t KNOW, am I weird? My boyfriend definitely thinks I’m strange for being so low maintenance in that sense, because I just don’t get caught up in that and I for sure don’t like tons of money being spent on me. If anything, JUST FEED ME.

If I am celebrating, I like to make the day chill, and about fun. And, one of the funnest things about holidays to me is playing with my makeup. You guys seem to love my lipstick posts!

So, in true Tania fashion, while I don’t have a post about the “best date night ideas”, what I DO have your back on is on what lipstick to wear! (I sure do LOVE a theme when it comes to makeup!)

Below are some lippies that I think will be perfect to rock this year, no matter your plans!

1. Milani – Blissful

I tend to gravitate more towards pink for this holiday – because there’s really no other holiday associated with this color. Pink is very romantic and perfect for a date night. I actually got this lipstick as part of my Valentine’s Day gift one year! Love the pastel Easter vibes!

2. Kylie Cosmetics – Twenty One Matte Lip Kit

Twenty One by Kylie Cosmetics is so fun and fresh! This is the perfect salmon pink to welcome in Spring, and the shade is such a pretty punch of color!

3. Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick – Madison

If you’re feeling darker, go with “Madison” by Anastasia Beverly Hills! This is such a gorgeous magenta shade that brightens up your whole face! It’s perfect for a date night! It’s also a liquid lipstick so it’s kiss proof (wink wink) and won’t budge! Tip: You can sometimes spot these ABH lippies for half the price at TJ Maxx or Marshalls!

4. MAC Cosmetics – Up the Amp

This is one of the oldest MAC lipsticks that I own! It’s a soft lavender shade that’s so easy to wear! It’s not too bright and in-your-face, so if you’re wanting to get braver and experiment with more purple-y tones, start with this one! This is definitely one that’s wearable for work! I also picture this being perfect for a Galentine’s Day dinner or an Anti-Valentine’s Day party with friends. I think its festive and flirty – and bound to catch someones eye IF you are on the hunt for a new bae!

Red Suggestions:

Of course RED is what the holiday is all about, right? But – very rarely am I in a mood to wear a red for V-day, only because by this time I’ve already overloaded on this color during the Christmas season. But of course, if you’re feeling the red vibes, you should check out this post I did back in December! I listed my favorite reds for the holidays – if I were in a red mood I would choose one of these! A new one that I actually got as a Christmas gift this year was this Fenty one! That’s quickly becoming a fave of mine so add that to the list!
