One of my favorite parts of makeup is lipstick! It’s an easy way to appear like you’re sporting different looks even if you wear the same makeup everyday. My favorite shades of lipsticks always lean on the dramatic, vampy side. For the record, you can wear whatever shade you want no matter the time of year! (I know I do!) But, with Fall now in full swing, this is when I take full advantage and really play around with these types of colors.
Today I’m showing you the 5 Fall staple lip colors you need for this season.
Of course, because I’m makeup obsessed, I have more lipsticks I wear that are not just limited to these 5, but, they all somewhat fall into these color families.
1. A Darker Everyday Neutral
I love wearing a nude that’s a smidge darker this time of year. My go-to is Maybelline Creamy Matte in the shade “Raw Chocolate.” I mentioned this brand in a past post – I love the formula – they’re very creamy and go on pretty opaque on the first swipe. They perform so well and for such a great price! This one is under $5 on Amazon!
These are so underrated and Maybelline has a great nude shade range to suit many skin tones! You should definitely take a second look at these next time you’re in the drugstore!
2. A Burnt Orange
EYES: MORPHE X JACLYN HILL “BLING BOSS” PALETTE
What’s Fall without orange? I love Ofra Cosmetics liquid lipstick in the shade “Miami Fever.” It’s a gorgeous burnt terracotta shade that channels all the pumpkin vibes! It’s such a fun color to wear for Thanksgiving! Also if you’ve never tried Ofra’s liquid lipsticks, they have one of the best formulas out there! It’s not dry or flaky, and they’re so comfortable to wear while still being long lasting! If you just can’t get behind liquid lipsticks because they’re so matte, you’ll like the “comfort matte” feel of these!
3. A Rosy Mauve
Kat Von D is known for long lasting stuff – I mean she’s the tattoo queen! I absolutely love her cosmetics line – she’s got amazing eyeshadow pigments, super blendable contour kits, and her liquid eyeliner is the only one I’ve been using for the past 2 years. Her liquid lipsticks are no exception. I’m wearing “Lolita” here – which is one of her most popular shades. I can see why it’s a bestseller! It’s a beautiful, dark dusty rose color that a lot of people gravitate to.
4. A Chestnut Brown
Nowww we’re getting to the good stuff – the darks! This is the color I reach for the most – I wear it almost everyday! This lip is “Brown Sugar” by Kylie Cosmetics and it’s one of my favorite browns ever. It’s more of an ashy cool toned brown which I think makes it stand out! You mostly see warm toned browns – a cool toned one like this gives a grungy 90s vibe. It looks so beautiful paired with just about any eyeshadow look. If you’re more into warm-toned browns, I got you! Milani has a GORGEOUS one in the shade “Covet” – see it here. Milani liquid lipsticks are great drugstore alternatives – their formula does NOT budge – they do feel very dry, but they will last all day.
4. A Vampy Purple
I get so excited to whip out the vamp colors towards the end of the year – don’t we all? This one is “Love Bite” by Kylie Cosmetics. It’s such a gorgeous muted purple/brown that looks so glam – it’s my go-to for holiday parties! People always compliment and ask me what lipstick I’m wearing when I have this on – it’s a head turner! This one lasts through anything – a must when you’re wearing darks – you don’t want to have to worry about it getting everywhere. I wore this last year for Thanksgiving and I didn’t have to reapply after eating ALL THE FOOD.
