Hey you! I’m Tania (Pronounced like “Tanya”) aka Rubi On Repeat. I’m a thirty something year old living in the friendly city of Chicago. I love traveling, reading suspense thriller novels, and obsessing over the latest beauty products. I can never refuse a nice cold can of Coke Zero. Welcome.

Where Am I from?

Growing up my Father was in the military so I don’t really have a hometown. A quick summary: I’m a Puerto Rican who was born in Germany, and then we picked up and moved almost every three years after that. (Yep – I was always the new girl) Places I’ve lived include Germany, Kansas, Georgia, Virginia and Texas. Naturally as a result, my family and friends are spread out all over the world. (That made for a lot of family road trips visiting everyone as a kid) Fun Fact: I speak Spanish! I tried to learn German while living there, but once we moved I forgot a lot of it. If you don’t use it, you lose it!

Where do I live now?

I live in the Lakeview neighborhood of Chicago. I moved here in 2015 and I can honestly say it’s one of the best places I’ve ever lived! Chicago is a big city that still has a cozy “home” feeling. It’s a clean, relatively affordable city, has amazing architecture and views, and is one of the best food cities in America. I was raised on flavorful carribbean food, so eating good is a priority! Chicago summers on rooftop patios are top tier. I’ll admit that the winters are BRUTAL but I’ve always been a person who prefers a colder climate. (I know, I’m weird) I’ll take 30 degrees over 90 degrees any day! I’m not a fan of sweating.

Why “Rubi On Repeat?”

Rubi is a play on my last name. I chose the name “Rubi On Repeat” because once you get to know me, I am such a chatterbox! When I’m passionate about a topic or discover something new, I’m like a broken record telling my friends and family about it nonstop. This space is now a creative outlet where I can connect with people who share my thoughts and love of clothes, beauty products, travel, and more.
